WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO
Slate Construction is a General Building company based out of Lompoc, Ca. We are a full service building company serving all of Santa Barbara County. Including Santa Barbara, Goleta, Montecito, Cartenteria, Santa Ynez, Solvang, Buelton, Lompoc, Orcutt, and Santa Maria.
We offer a vast range of construction services including but not limited to: Planning, Estimating, Budgeting, Scheduling, General contracting, and Construction management. Including all construction trades from Foundation to Finish.
FOUNDER AND OPERATOR
General Contractor and owner Mike Martinez, founded Slate Construction in 2018 with an unyielding desire to grow and help enhance the central coast residential community. Mike has over fourteen years of experience in the construction industry. He started his construction journey with a solid foundation, literally. Starting as a cement mason laborer in 2008. Before long he was building concrete foundations as a foreman and field supervisor. There he grasped fine leadership skills and a vast knowledge of framing, plumbing and electrical as it all starts from the foundation. After several years he decided to diversify his knowledge of the trades by working for various general contractors in the Santa Barbara area. After 7 years of working at foreman and supervisor level, Mike decided to acquire his General Building license and open Slate Construction.

Founded out of a pure admiration for building. Slate Construction's roots stemmed from deeply instilled hard work ethic, a love for architecture, and the satisfaction of working with our hands. Our core value is to provide an exceptional, transparent construction experience to the people of our central coast community. To not only build homes, but rock solid, lasting relationships with our valued clients.
